LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Michele Hoitenga, R-Manton, on Wednesday released the following statement after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s 2023 State of the State address:
“I look forward to working with the governor and my legislative colleagues on meaningful tax relief for the people of Michigan. All Michiganders are facing real challenges brought on by record inflation. We cannot simply provide relief for some and not all. We must provide everyone the tax relief they need and deserve.
“Every Michigander also deserves to have their constitutional rights protected. As the new chair of the Second Amendment Caucus in the Michigan Senate, I will continue to do all that I can in the Legislature to protect our Second Amendment rights.
“As your state senator, I will continue working hard on behalf of the people of our district to fight against any harmful policies and radical agendas.”
